Install

QGIS AI is distributed as a single zip file. Install it through QGIS’s built-in “Install from ZIP” feature. Works on QGIS 3.28 LTR and later.

Step 1. Download the zip

Go to the download page and click Download v3.2.0. Save the file anywhere on your computer — your Downloads folder, your Desktop, or any location you prefer. You’ll point QGIS to it in the next step.

The file is named qgis_AI_assistant_v3.2.0.zip and is about 0.44 MB.

Step 2. Open the plugin installer in QGIS

1. Launch QGIS.
2. Top menu: Plugins → Manage and Install Plugins…
3. In the dialog, choose the “Install from ZIP” tab on the left.

Step 3. Select the zip and install

1. Click the … button next to the ZIP file field.
2. Navigate to wherever you saved the zip and select it.
3. Click Install Plugin.
4. A success message appears — close the dialog.

Step 4. Open the assistant

On the right side of QGIS you’ll see a new dock titled AI Assistant. If you don’t see it, enable it from the top menu: View → Panels → AI Assistant.

Updating to a new version

When a new version is released, download the new zip and repeat the same steps. QGIS will overwrite the existing install.

System requirements

• QGIS 3.28 LTR or newer
• macOS 12+, Windows 10+, or a modern Linux distro
• Internet connection for the first sign-in

Troubleshooting

“Plugin installation failed” error. Make sure you downloaded the file completely. Try re-downloading and installing again.

Dock doesn’t appear after install. Restart QGIS, then check View → Panels → AI Assistant.
